SELF-CARE FOR YOUR FRĒDAS

CALF EDITION

We design our collections to last season after season—but everybody needs a little self-care. Regular cleaning can help the extend the lifespan of any leather shoe, so we put together a few cleaning steps to keep your FRĒDA’s looking their best.

1. KEEP THEIR SHAPE

Maintain their shape with a shoe horn or tissue paper

2. CLEAR AWAY DIRT

Brush them to remove all dirt and debris (we use a toothbrush)

3. MAKE THE CLEANING SOLUTION

Mix warm water with a small amount of dish soap (emphasis on small so you don’t discolor the leather!)

TIP: Use equal parts of baking soda and water if you’re cleaning white or light-colored shoes

4. CLEAN THE SOLES

RUBBER SOLES: Brush the cleaning solution to the outsole and midsole thoughtfully then dry with a soft cloth

LEATHER SOLES: Clear dirt with s dry cloth then white with a moist cloth after. Dip the cloth into equal parts vinegar and water to rub away the spots
TIP: To wash the insoles, remove them to clean  and give them time to dry before putting them back

5. WASH THE UPPERS

Use your toothbrush and gently clean the uppers with the solution

6. WIPE OFF THE SOAP MIXTURE

Once you’re happy with their look, use a soft cloth to blot and lift any remaining soapy moisture and dirt

NOTE: Try to avoid rubbing as it can wear down the shoe fabric or spread any remaining small bits of dirt

7. AIR DRY THEM

Let them air dry for at least 8 hours

8. STORE THEM SAFELY

Use a shoe horn and a dustbag to keep their toe shape and safe from dirt

SUEDE EDITION

We design our collections to last season after season—but everybody needs a little self-care. Suede is aniline leather that doesn’t have a protective finish which means they can stain. Luckily, regular cleaning and spraying them before wear can expand their lifespan. We put together a few cleaning steps to keep your FRĒDA’s looking their best.

1. KEEP THEIR SHAPE

Maintain their shape with a shoe horn or tissue paper

2. CLEAR AWAY DIRT

Brush them to remove all dirt and debris with a suede brush or towel
TIP: Work in the same direction as the material for the best results

3. RUB AWAY MARKS

Use a suede rubber to clear away any marks on the surface (be gentle!)

4. TAKE ON STUBBORN STAINS

Use a cloth dipped in white vinegar to work on harsher stains

5. CLEAN THE INSOLES

Soak the insoles for a few hours in two parts vinegar and one part hot water

6. AIR DRY THEM

Let them air dry for at least 8 hours

7. STORE THEM SAFELY

Use a shoe horn and a dustbag to keep their toe shape and safe from dirt
