THE BEST (CURATED BY US) SEPTEMBER 2024
THE BEST OF ALL THINGS FASHION
Fall is here and things feel electric. We’re on the edge of our seats excited about this season and the energy behind personal style. We’re obsessing over new brands, cool style vibes and creative ways to refresh our closets. So without further ado, here is our curated list of the best of all things fashion this month.
THE BEST SHOPPING
Our " wants " shopping list is a mile long every September, but we’ve narrowed it down to a few brands and shops we’re excited about and think you will be too.
All the girlies were seen wearing them at Copenhagen Fashion Week–so we’re obviously obsessed. Founded by couple Jeanne Sissel Thomsen and Chris Elmengaard, Sissel Edelbo is a Danish brand that specializes in reimagining vintage textiles into something new. Think: prints and color everything. We have about six jackets in our cart right now.
When we spotted this horse cardigan on @CourtneyGrow, we had to investigate and were pumped to discover it was Parisian brand, Brut. With a knack for turning vintage favorites into modern essentials, we love the Bode-like feel of their pieces and can’t wait to style them for a fall weekend away.
Two words: sweater weather. And &Daughter does it best in color. Buffy Reid and her father founded &Daughter ten years ago to create a forever sweater. Locally made in the United Kingdom, we love the simplicity and beauty of their everyday knitwear.
We can’t get enough of Lovechild 1979. Founded by Anne-Dorthe Larsen, her design approach is a comfortable balance between masculine and feminine–aka the perfect match to FRĒDA. We love what she’s doing with her jackets and tailoring. This is definitely a brand to bookmark.
We’re shopping vintage more than ever, especially for some of those bigger investment pieces. Touted one of the top 10 vintage stores in Paris, Skat Vintage was founded by the couple Agnès Salto, who is Danish, and Mathias de Cevins, who is French, this boutique reflects their shared passion for curated high-end fashion from the pre-’90s era. Long story short, we want everything.
THE BEST READS
Our bookshelf isn’t filled with books this month but digital magazines for all the fashion inspo we can immerse ourselves in this season. Plus, an honorable mention for Sally Rooney’s new novel.
Wardrobe Icons is all about curating the closet items you will love for a lifetime. Founded by former fashion editors Laura Fantacci and Petronella Stofberg, we love their quick edits on how to shop trends from a versatility lens and when to buy those investment pieces that become heirlooms.
There is very little Hurs does that we don’t bookmark and think you’ll agree too. They’re all about celebrating women by offering smart content through a style lens. Fashion, life, beauty, rugs–you name it, they’ve written about it in a way that doesn’t feel forced but rather, like you wrote it yourself.
We have been waiting for this for so long and the month is finally here! We read all of Sally Rooney’s books (probably in record time) and are sure this one will be no exception. Focusing on the lives of two brothers, it’s a moving story about grief, love and family–we are now counting down the hours until release.
THE BEST ENTERTAINMENT
There is probably a lot going on in the entertainment world but we’re all eyes on street style from across the globe at the moment. Here’s a curated list of our favorite Instagram follows for all things fashion.
For the best-in-class menswear looks and layering techniques, look no further than @londoners.style by street style fashion photographer, Nadia.
Scott Schuman of the @thesatorialist has been behind the camera photographing street style for years. And lucky for us, most recently in Milan where we can learn a thing or two about luxurious fabrics and high fashion energy.
@watchingnewyork by Johnny Cirillo calls himself “The People’s Paparazzi” and he’s not wrong. Capturing all the unique looks that grace New York City’s streets, we can’t thank him enough.
Because we’re obsessed with all things Copenhagen, @copenhagenfrow is Charlo Luisa’s style diary from the streets of the Danish capital.
“Je ne suis quoi” IRL. We couldn’t leave our effortless style experts off the list, @parisiensinparis is an ode to Parisien fashion–what we will always aspire to.
