New York Retail Store Manager

We are looking for a full-time (40 hrs/week) sales professional with excellent people skills and a high level of integrity. This person will play a key role in building our retail channel in New York. We want a proven leader who is passionate about the retail customer experience, has strong sales acumen, and knows how to turn that acumen into measurable growth. This person will be instrumental in executing the store's daily operations, driving sales and revenue growth, and cultivating the New York market.
This candidate must have previous retail experience in the fashion industry and be skilled at building strong, lasting customer relationships.

- Is comfortable owning store KPIs (conversion, UPT, ATV) and translating data into action
- Has demonstrated ability to lead others in a product-focused store
- Works independently and problem-solves on the go
- Has accessory and leather goods experience or a passion for the category
- Is technology competent (Google Suite, Shopify, Endear and Bright Pearl experience is a plus)
STORE + EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT
- Guide the retail team to create a strong brand experience by ensuring all team members are experts on product and brand
- Manage and train sales associates to always put customers first
- Build customer relationships through strong clienteling
- Build and retain a loyal client base by delivering personalized service and engaging invitations
- Uphold an extraordinary customer experience across all communication channels, including handling one-off requests like repairs or exchanges
- Act as brand ambassador — engage customers on the brand and product in person, by phone, and in writing through Endear
- Handle store maintenance in partnership with the Regional Manager
- Own loss prevention: enforce security protocols and train staff on theft-deterrence best practices
- Be on call for any store security issues
- Manage all on- and offboarding of new employees
SALES, GROWTH + EVENTS
- Own the store's sales and growth targets, and translate strategy into day-to-day action on the floor
- Proactively seek out and pursue opportunities to host private events, VIP shopping experiences, and community activations that generate in-organic foot traffic
- Build relationships with local businesses, press, and community partners to raise brand presence in New York
- Propose and host a minimum of one retail activation per quarter
- Partner with the marketing team and third-party vendors to plan and execute in-store events (customer-facing, influencer-facing, and third-party collaborations)
- Coordinate all event logistics in partnership with Marketing and the Regional Manager, including food + drink, rentals, promo codes, florals, inventory needs, and staffing
- Support marketing with local social content and promotions that spotlight the store and its community
STORE OPERATIONS + INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
- Drive strong operational execution, keeping the store productive, efficient, and profitable
- Conduct weekly replenishment review and processing
- Manage inventory and reconciliation with support from the Operations team, including receiving, outbound shipments, and transfer orders
- Maintain inventory accuracy through weekly/monthly counts
- Maintain standard operating procedures for order and inventory processes
- Uphold visual merchandising standards — bi-weekly window and in-store refreshes, and full re-merchandising when new product arrives
- Partner with the Regional Manager to remove aged inventory quarterly
- Coordinate inventory transfers from HQ to the store
- Coordinate third-party vendor merchandise (orders, receiving, reorders, returns)
- Review the monthly store, staffing, and P&L budget
- Complete bank deposits biweekly
REPORTING
- Prepare and present the weekly Store Manager meeting deck
- Prepare and share event recaps (third-party events, company sales, special promotions)
- Prepare and share monthly new customer data
- Communicate sales and KPI performance to the team
- Review the marketing seasonal calendar to ensure alignment with the marketing team
JOB DETAILS
- Full-time, 5 days per week
- Weekend availability expected to successfully manage the team and drive sales
- Full-day shifts of 7-8 hours
