THE BEST (CURATED BY US) DECEMBER 2024

THE BEST WINTER EVER

With all the coming NYE parties, cozy nights at home and other cold-weather things happening right now, we’re ready to have the most fun winter season. So from eccentric glassware to a martini recipe to swoon over–here is our curated list of the best things for the best winter ever.

THE BEST SHOPPING

Knits. Tableware. Slow beauty. Let’s go shopping.

TABLE FANCIES

We have a serious weakness for glassware–we could fill a store at this point. Sophie Lou Jacobsen only fuels the obsession further. New York-based, her work stems from the idea that objects have an innate power to enhance their user's mood through form and function. We’ve coveted some of her cocktail glasses for so long, that we can’t wait to add them to our hosting tables.

MISSION COZY

When the mood is cozy, the vibe is DEMYLEE. Founded by Korea native Demy Lee, she’s got a knack for creating sweaters you’ll want to live in all season and cherish for years to come. All made with natural fibers, we’re eyeing the Soleil Cardigan with its quirky-cool button work.

SLOW BEAUTY

We keep it simple when it comes to makeup (we’re more skincare enthusiasts), so when we find a multi-use product–we jump on it. Founded by Alice Kindred Wells and Jennifer Black Francis, Kindred Black focuses on all things artisan, makeup included. Their beauty viles are art themselves, but the lip and cheek flush is next level.

THE BEST READS

Iconic magazines. Fresh substacks. Fun autobiographies. Here’s what’s on our reading list this month.

ICONIC MAGAZINES–REVISITED

We’re not shy about our affinity for magazines–the real kind printed on paper, not online! And HOLIDAY Magazine is just that. An exquisite biannual publication made in Paris but written in French. Originally founded in 1946, it was resurfaced after a 37-year hiatus in 2014. It remains faithful to the essence, aesthetic and sense of journalistic adventure of its forebear, but in a format that also celebrates fashion. A huge must-subscribe for all our magazine lovers out there.

STYLE IN YOUR INBOX

We’ve always loved Jenny Walton’s fun approach to individual style. There’s so much energy in her outfits and while you can tell every piece is considered, she’s not overly precious with fashion and trends–just like us! In her substack, she explores all things personal style and we are nothing but overjoyed when her name pops up in our inboxes.

THE QUEEN OF THE SEVENTIES

We are constantly inspired by everything in the Seventies decade, so when Pamela Des Barres’s autobiography landed on our desk a few years ago–we couldn’t put it down. A groupie to some of the biggest bands in rock history, her novel is a remarkably sweet confession of her era of fun. Highly recommend!

THE BEST ENTERTAINMENT

Martinis. TV therapy. Stanley Tucci. What more could you need to entertain yourself this season?

TINI TIME

There are very few cocktails that are more classic (or sexy?) than a martini. We rarely make that home because it’s more fun to go get martinis–with a side of french fries of course–but with the cold weather and cozy winter feels we thought we’d share the only recipe we turn to when we get the itch.

TV THERAPY (LITERALLY)

If it’s rainy and gross outside (or just too damn cold), snuggle up on the couch and start laughing to “Shrinking.” We love love LOVED the first season, so were so excited when the second season came out this year. It’s all about the drama and fun that happens in a therapist’s office. We dare you not to get hooked after just one episode.

LOVE + STANLEY TUCCI

We love all things Stanley Tucci and we love all things Dolly Alderton. But combined? Pure magic. In this podcast, Dolly interviews the guests about the different kinds of love they have in their lives. Every episode is good (and so sweet!) but we had a soft spot for Stanley Tucci that we just had to share.
