2023: YEAR IN REVIEW

HAPPY HOLIDAYS,

THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING AND SOME

From our family factories and the people in our offices to the women who inspire us everyday (that’s you!), we started FRĒDA with the dream of building a community from the ground up. Every day since, we’ve been overwhelmed with the love and support you have given us each step of the way.

We love what we do and we love you too–thank you for helping us bring our dream to life.

THE REVIEW: LIFE AS FRĒDA

As a small team with big dreams, it’s been a HUGE year for us and we were so happy to celebrate with you along the way. Here’s a look back at some of the moments that made our LIFE IN FRĒDA so special.

IN DESIGN:

LEFTOVER LEATHERS

We started the year with a collection made using the leather from previous seasons. Repurposing something old and making it new again. We worked with our family-run factory to take the beautiful leathers we had on hand and reimagined them into our most-loved styles.

VISITS TO SPAIN

We made a stop to see the family and factory in Spain. Raul, who runs our production there (aka FREDA’s dad) took us on a weekend-long food tour. We also got to see the early production of our SS23 collection, which only got us more excited for the coming season.

SOURCING IN ITALY

Our team packed up and headed to Italy for a week to source leathers for future seasons. We loved being back in Milan and getting serious about all things pasta. We also found so many beautiful leathers you’ll be seeing in the new year!

VINTAGE CAPSULE

FRĒDA and vintage goes hand-in-hand. We love celebrating unique, individual style, not to mention repurposing cool things that already exist in the world. This summer, we went with Born to Roam founder, Rayna Basta, to her supplier to source a curated vintage collection. It was SO much fun and something we have brought home to Fillmore.

HANDBAGS (OMG!)

It’s true. We did it. We launched our very first Handbag Collection! Years in the making, we had so much fun on this adventure to end up on your arm. Every stitch, every detail and every shape was unapologetically us and thoughtfully designed to be another way for you to live LIFE IN FRĒDA.

ON COMMUNITY:

AT HOME ON FILLMORE

Our dream space (finally) became reality. Marrying our love of community and design, every inch of the space was thoughtfully considered to look beautiful, feel inviting and function as a gathering place. We’ve had so much fun hosting, shooting and seeing you guys IRL.

CONNECTING IN LA

We spent SO much time in LA this year, we consider it a second home now. From our event with Dr. Deepika Chopra and Berry Stein to our Handbag Collection launch party and FRĒDA Hangout at Cafe Nido there were many fun moments to celebrate.

HANGIN’ IN AUSTIN

We spent an afternoon in Austin at Claire Zinnecker’s farmhouse for the warmest welcome to Texas. Odette Annable and Genevieve Padalecki hosted a little gathering where we connected with old and new friends.

CAMP FRĒDA IN MONTANA

We took out first annual team trip to Montana. It was much-needed refresh and so special to spend some quality time with each other. From fishing and swimming to campfires and bonding, we dreamed up more exciting things to come!

MARCHÉ LOVE

If you could wrap up our weekend at MARCHÉ and give it to us as a gift this season, it’d be at the top of our list! We had the best time popping up and celebrating amongst 50+ other woman-owned businesses–it was truly a dream day.

FRĒDA WOMEN TIMES A MILLION

We celebrated so many cool women this year and are beyond proud to call these people (and you!) our family and community. Brilliant minds have a way of coming together and we hope you find connection everyday in your FRĒDAs and beyond.
