Classic and reimagined–our signature halo loafer is an elevated everyday essential and known for its slightly unconventional design. Handcrafted in Spain.

Our shoes are made from the highest quality leather which will last season after season. Leather is a natural material and will give with wear.

  • 100% Spanish leather in black calf.
  • 100% Spanish leather lined. This tannery is a Leather Working Group Approved Trader and leather contains no PFAs.
  • Studded welt 
  • Brass halo ornament 
  • 1” leather stacked heel 
  • 100% leather sole with rubber layer for enhanced durability 

This material may feel snug when you first put them on. This is normal as they begin to soften and form to your foot. Before you know it, they will become your everyday favorite.

  • The LIGHT loafer is running small, we recommend sizing up a half size from your typical size.
  • Slip-on, moccasin top loafer 
  • VALE is the last used for this loafer. Learn more about lasts here.

LIGHT is handmade at our family-owned factory in the traditional footwear town of Elda, Spain. Our leather is sourced from the finest tanneries across Italy. Each upper is cut, sewn and lasted by Spanish artisans who are experts in their craft. Our components are developed and tested with neighboring factories in Elda, and perfected by FREDA’s design team in Sausalito. Every pair of the women's loafer is hand finished from the custom brass halo down to the sole.

    I love these loafers. The brass detail is so cool. They were a bit tight and stiff the first couple of wears but that’s to be expected.

    Gorgeous loafer

    These shoes are absolutely gorgeous! I absolutely love them. In other Freda shoes I’m true to size US 8. In these I had to go down a full size. A US 7 is perfect. That said, the return was worth it. The craftsmanship is just outstanding!

    Coveted bc they’re gorg

    These might be the best-looking pair of shoes I own. I’ve coveted them for years… and unfortunately it took me almost that long to find the right size. I am a true 10 in my other Freda shoes that use the Vale last, but I had to size DOWN a half-size for these not to slip off my heel. They do not run large for my feet! Now that I have the right size, I love these shoes. It was an expensive process to get here!
