Classic and endlessly comfortable–our iconic penny style is known to be the most comfortable, exceptionally made and detailed loafer out there. Handcrafted in El Salvador.

Our shoes are made from the highest quality leather which will last season after season. Leather is a natural material and will give with wear.

  • 100% Italian leather in stucco suede. This tannery is Leather Working Group Registered and leather contains no PFAs. Leather Working Group is a tool to evaluate the environmental performance of leather goods manufacturers.
  • 100% Calf leather lined.
  • Gold coin under the penny strap.
  • Padded leather footbed.
  • Notched leather welt.
  • 0.75" flared leather stacked heel with sueded leather sole.
  • In an effort to be less wasteful and keep your shoes looking good, we applied a thin film to the sole. Please remove and recycle prior to making these yours. If you plan to return, please ensure film is in tact.
  • Fitting true to size.
  • Slip-on.

The ELBA is hand-sewn in our San Salvador, El Salvador, family factory. Our Co-Founder's grandfather started manufacturing shoes 67 years ago, and our hand-sewn Moccasins are produced in a factory that her father started in the 1980s. This factory is one of the last hand-sewn moccasin factories in the world—a true testament to artisanal craftsmanship and passing down this skill from generation to generation.

    These require a break in period.

    My boyfriend bought me these recently and I was looking forward to the no break in period, as previously mentioned by multiple reviews. Sadly, they require one and I’m not sure if this is specific for the style or color, but the ones I have are VERY stiff (especially on the side near the ankles). They are beautifully made but I was really looking forward to not having sore feet and this is not the case.

    Love these loafers

    I have them in a bone leather and black suede colors and both were so comfortable right out of the box. They are perfect for all day wear at a conference or around town and look great with jeans and skirts. Good heel height and width . I just wish they were available in navy suede!!

    Soooo comfy!

    Zero break-in required! Wore these right out of the box, for 5 miles, on a trip to Paris. I was initially a bit worried as they were rubbing my outer ankle bone but the shoes quickly molded to my feet and that issue resolved on day 1. I did have to buy a shoe horn to avoid smashing the back when putting them on. Really, could not love these more!

    There is absolutely no break in period for these loafers. They are true to size and incredibly comfortable. I just wore them for 8+ hours and I don’t have a single blister or sore spot.
