THE BEST (CURATED BY US) JUNE 2024

THE BEST THINGS FOR SUMMER FEELS

Ready, set, SUMMER. We are so excited for sunny days, beach afternoons and backyard hangs. Summer style is always a highlight, it’s the time to be bold with prints and colors–paired best with a tan line, of course. So to get you all set for your adventures and lazy days, we’ve curated a list of the best things for all the summer feels.

THE BEST SHOPPING

Sunscreen, cute little sets, swimsuits and sunglasses are the essentials we’re shopping for this month.

SUNCARE THAT’S SELF-CARE

We’re all about getting that sun-kissed glow but we know better than to burn our skin to a crisp. We stumbled upon DUNE Suncare last summer and are obsessed. Founded by two Aussie ladies, Emily and Mei, they created an invisible-gel formula that hydrates skin, helps to even tone and doesn’t clog your pores–aka everything your skin needs and nothing it doesn’t.

THE BEST FRIEND OF SWIMSUITS

You’ve seen LEFT ON FRIDAY before from our collaboration earlier this year, but we’re listing them here again because their swimsuits are just different. The fit is excellent, the materials are sublime and they are designed to keep up with you from beach to cocktails. Plus, we love the founders Shannon and Laura and will be supporting them long time.

STATEMENT SUNGLASSES

Sunglasses just make you feel cooler and when we saw our prop stylist wearing a pair of Wolfspout frames–we needed them. Weird but wearable, we love the personality founders Danielle McWaters and Lauren Meeker bring to all of their designs. And keep an eye out for this month for a very special collaboration we have with them!

EFFORTLESS STYLE DEFINED

While we have some fun with our style in summer, we also depend on the effortless pieces for our everyday. Rouri is just that. Founded in Spain, Rouri is a sustainable and handmade brand celebrating the serene life. We’re eyeing the Maria Blouse and Skirt for our summer adventures near and far.

THE BEST READS

Summer is the time to hit the books (for fun!). Here’s what’s on our bookshelf this season.

THE PAGE TURNER

We loved Kiley Reid’s first novel, so to say we’re excited about her new book “Come and Get It” is an understatement. This tension-filled story is about a residential student and her messy entanglement with a professor and three unruly students at the University of Arkansas. We can’t wait to dig into it.

THE FUN ONE

You’ve probably seen this one because it quickly climbed to the top of the NY Times best sellers list. Emily Henry is the queen of fun summer reads, and “Funny Story” is no exception. It’s a classic love story gone wrong only to pick back up with exes joining forces. We read it quickly and only wished we had saved it for a beach vacation.

THE CHARMING STORY

“Anxious People” by Frederik Backman has sat on our bookshelf for about two years now and we’re so happy we finally got around to reading it. It’s fast-paced, funny and compassionate in equal measure. It’s a beautiful story of friendship, forgiveness and hope–something we could always use.

THE BEST ENTERTAINMENT

Sips, eats and TV for the inevitable rainy day is how we’re entertaining this month.

SIGNATURE SIPS

We’ll be having friends over all the time and have decided the watermelon margarita is the drink of the summer. NYTimes Cooking is our destination for all things fresh and we love the added spice they have in this recipe.

RAINY DAY BINGING

If the weather isn’t cooperating and we aren’t into a book, we shamelessly start streaming. The show we’re most excited about this summer (except for “The Bear” Season 3) is “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld.” A true champion of fashion, it’s a look at the late creative director’s impact on the industry we all adore.

REFRESHING NOURISHMENT

If summer was a salad, this would be it. We’ve been serving this for years and thought we would pass it along for you to enjoy as well. Its sweetness will trick you into thinking you’re eating something bad when it’s packed with fruits, nuts and greens.
