Our shoes are made from the highest quality leather which will last season after season. Leather is a natural material and will give with wear.

• 100% Italian upper and lining leather in black vegetable calf. This tannery is rated Leather Working Group Silver. Leather Working Group is a tool to evaluate the environmental performance of leather goods manufacturers.
• 0.25" rubber heel and sueded leather sole
• In an effort to be less wasteful and keep your shoes looking good, we applied a thin film to the sole. Please remove and recycle prior to making these yours. If you plan to return, please ensure film is in tact. 

The soft nature of this material should make for a seamless fit right out of the box.

Vegetable tanning is a traditional process where the cowhide is treated with plant-based tannins, so it develops a patina over time. This means shoes made in this very natural leather will develop a beautifully aged look. Keep in mind that the surface of the leather is not treated with chemicals or finishes so there may be minor variations to the leather that define their uniqueness.

To clean, use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove dirt. You can apply neutral, non-lanolin wax to revive and restore leather. Do not use any leather soaps, cleaners, or conditioners with lanolin. When not in use, store your shoes in a box or dust bag. We recommend cleaning periodically or as needed to keep your FRĒDAs looking brand new.

The CARLOTA is handmade at our family-owned factory in the traditional footwear town of Elda, Spain. Our leather is sourced from the finest tanneries across Italy. Each upper is cut, sewn and lasted by Spanish artisans who are experts in their craft.
