The reimagined penny loafer. Made by hand in black calf leather, the MATEO updates the classic style with our signature notched welt, angled leather heel and statement crystal adornments.

Our shoes are made from the highest quality leather which will last season after season. Leather is a natural material and will give with wear.

  • 100% Italian upper leather in black calf. This tannery is rated Leather Working Group Silver. Leather Working Group is a tool to evaluate the environmental performance of leather goods manufacturers.
  • Crystal encased hardware made in Spain. (over 390+ crystals per pair!)
  • 100% Calf leather lined.
  • Notched leather welt
  • 0.75" leather-stacked flared heel
  • Leather sueded sole
  • In an effort to be less wasteful and keep your shoes looking good, we applied a thin film to the sole. Please remove and recycle prior to making these yours. If you plan to return, please ensure film is in tact.
  • Fitting true to size.

The MATEO is hand-sewn in our San Salvador, El Salvador, family factory. Our Co-Founder's grandfather started manufacturing shoes 67 years ago, and our hand-sewn Moccasins are produced in a factory that her father started in the 1980s. This factory is one of the last hand-sewn moccasin factories in the world—a true testament to artisanal craftsmanship and passing down this skill from generation to generation.
