THE BEST (CURATED BY US) AUGUST 2024

SIMPLY JUST THE BEST

This newsletter is always a fun one for us. We love to share a laundry list of all the things we’ve discovered recently or are obsessing over in our meetings. We always like to give you a monthly theme but as we’re enjoying the final days of summer and getting ready for fall–this month is simply just the best things we’ve shopped, read and entertained ourselves with over the past few weeks.

THE BEST SHOPPING

From new tableware to sunny essentials and art inspo—here’s what we’re shopping for at the moment.

HOME REFRESH

We stumbled upon La Jambu in search of some mini martini glasses–and we hit the jackpot in all things home. Founded by Riya Patel, her shop is a beautiful curation of unique things that blend British and Indian culture. We checked out with their adorable embroidered napkins and fun ceramics.

SUMMER VIBES

Soleil Soleil says it's time to spend every minute in the sun. Founded by Australian designers, Emma and Isabel, they’re all about creating sustainable pieces with nostalgic textiles that celebrate and complement good times in the sunshine. We fell for their playful colors and prints!

ART INSPIRATION

Our walls are always on our minds. And when we found Tuftluck Studio, we fell in LOVE. We’re obsessed with all things cowgirl and artist, Kara Rose Marshall does it best. Her fresh approach to Western characters is soon to be all over our homes.

THE BEST READS

We are reading so much this summer–the TV just isn’t doing it for us right now, so here’s what’s been on our bookshelf.

LAST YEAR’S BEACH READ

So everybody had this on their towels last summer but we’re just a little late to the game (so apologies if you’ve already read). But we could not put “Hello Beautiful” by Ann Napolitano down one weekend. Equal parts sentimental and beautiful, it’s a profoundly moving story of what’s possible when we choose to love someone for who they are, not because of it.

CAREER WOMAN TRANSFORMATION

Alex Cooper has been in our peripheral vision for years now. In three years, she’s transformed her raunchy sex podcast “Call Her Daddy” into a sitdown interview series talking to major names in Hollywood. Her new feature in WSJ is nothing short of inspiring and a good portrait of where determination and strong will can take you.

MEGAN IS ON SUBSTACK

TELL EVERYONE. We are so excited to see our wonderful co-founder, Megan Papay make her entrance to Substack. The brain to our campaign styling and so much more, she’ll be sharing a little bit of everything that inspires her or just what’s on her mind. Follow along for the fun!

THE BEST ENTERTAINMENT

While we prefer long days outdoors right now, there are bound to be a few rainy summer days where we’ll be watching movies and cooking up a storm.

MADE US CRY

Pass us the tissue box, “Inside Out 2” had us crying and laughing in equal measure. If you haven’t seen the first one, that’s essential too. We love Pixar and they hit it out of the park with this story. See it in theatres–you won’t regret it.

IN THE KITCHEN

This writer has never been the biggest cook, but has found more inspiration in the kitchen recently and it’s all because of “The Defined Dish” by Alex Snodgrass. She’s Whole 30, but don’t let that turn you away because she always gives you the option to use butter if you want to. A personal favorite is her Street Steak Tacos–so easy and so delicious!

FRESH FOLLOW

We scroll Instagram more than we want to admit but love it when we find someone new with a good take on personal style. “Cestclau” is our most recent follow who’s really found a modern approach to the covetable “Je ne sais quoi” of Parisian fashion.
